Irish Grain Growers Are Looking For New Companies To Buy Their Barley

The Irish Grain Growers Group(IGGG) are looking for companies both domestic and abroad willing to do business for the fully traceable malting barley from their members . IGGG members includes over 300 of the best malting barley growers in the country. We are amongst the most experienced growers in Ireland and together farm the best malting barley growing land in Ireland. Irish malting barley is regarded as one of the best quality barleys in Europe and beyond. With growing demand for both brewing and distilling barley and potential to grow and use Irish wheat as a replacement for maize in the industry ,the IGGG believe that there is potential for new buyers to enter the market in Ireland.

IGGG say that their members are seeing no benefits currently from the growth in demand from the brewing and distilling industries and their members are eager to work with new partners.

IGGG​ believe there is a lot of potential in the market and we are saying our growers have the experience and knowledge, have full traceability of the quality assured crop and most of all we are the owners and managers of the land that produces this excellent quality Irish barley.

Many drinks manufacturers recognise the use of ‘Irish grown’ barley as the most important part of their production process and a central part of their marketing story. IGGG recognise the importance of this valuable brand message and as such are actively looking to work with more companies both domestic and abroad to supply this demand. IGGG is optimistic that with the right partners on board, they would grow and secure the future of the malting barley industry and especially for the tillage farmers in Ireland.

The first of this barley will be available to buyers from harvest 2017.
